Ein Foto des Meisters Lars Oliver Kniest selbst

Oliver Kniest

Born: 26 Sep 1966 in Germany
living in Cologne, GER since 2000

I never felt a really close connection to photography all my life. So this can be called a late found passion. Gratefully "still and forever" close internet-friend Monika, finally talked me into buying a camera and giving it a try. I bought my first camera in 2006. The composition of my pictures is strongly influenced by my favorite childhood literature: comics! A love for strong colors and harsh contrasts defines the style of all my pictures. The pictures I take don't ask for a deaper meaning... they just want to please. At least that's what I am trying to accomplish...

new additional equipment

Freitag, 21.05.2010 11:51:56h

after I bought my new cam end of last year (see blog: "about an offer I couldn't resist") now I added some equipment again to have way more options banning my ideas on pictures.
Now I finally have again a more extreme wide angle lens (16-35mm) and a highspeed flashlight.
Unfortunately my timing with shoots and the weather wasn't very lucky so far, so I am still waiting to put the new equipment into action...
But I hope soon I will get the chance

Fetish Evolution 2010

Dienstag, 06.04.2010 17:40:07h

Been too busy lately to update my blog here, but I feel I have to report from last weekend at Fetish Evolution in Essen, GER

unfortunately I couldn't closely do as much model shoots as I wished, but I did some "documentary shoots" of the events there (Expo, fetish ball) as well and I met a lot of nice people which I knew before only via internet, and had some great contact with the fabulous designers of latex/fetish clothing.

you can see some of the pictures soon on my myspace account (http://www.myspace.com/okn66), but first all the pictures have to be re-worked and confirmed by the host of Fetish Evolution.

...but be sure, I also did not forget to party as well ;)

my 1st exhibition

Samstag, 09.01.2010 12:17:45h

in cooperation with my favourite tattoo stu dio "Via Dolorosa" I will have my first exhibition.

The exhibition will start on January, 30th at the tattoo studio
Via Dolorosa, Hansemannstrasse 1, 50823 Cologne

There will be 17 of my pictures shown and in case of interest, the staff of the studio and I would be VERY HAPPY to welcome you

see: Flyer

UPDATE:
first of all many, many thanks to all involved. Especially to the team of Via Dolorosa (Sascha, Heinz and all the others who helped) and of course to my models I worked with. Without you all this would not have been possible.
To me the exhibition was a great success. there were about 100 guests coming to see my pictures, which was especially regarding the weather conditions (heavy snow) VERY impressive to me. Of course there were also some invited people missing due to the snow, but nevertheless the amount of people wanting to see my pictures totally overwhelmed me.
so THX THX THX to all and everyone

probs - no more probs

Samstag, 09.01.2010 12:13:29h

well, finally this issue can be closed *YIHAAAA*
The lawsuit ended with the judge suggesting the dealer should pay for the time value of my Mac, else they would be found guilty and would as well have to pay the money as there might be a risk other people having the same issue join into the lawsuit.
Now I will get most of the money I paid about 2 years ago, when I bought my Mac. The costs are covered mostly by the dealer, the rest will be done by my insurance.
SOOOO, as soon as I finally received the money I will buy a totally NEW Mac (27", i7), but definitely never agin at the dealer...

congrats, dude!
erm, just do some research on the iMacs 27" first, Apple seem to have some display-issues with the actual model, as I remember right this is about colours...

success with you exhibition, greets from your old fellow

probs - 3rd update

Montag, 16.11.2009 19:49:47h

...well, finally it seems the lawsuit is coming to an end soon (not yet, but soon).
The judge is obviously absolutely on my side, BUT I now have to prove the problem was already existing when I bought the iMac.

Now I am wondering how to prove something which is occurring little by little, step by step, not visible in the beginning but coming after being in use... we will see

will keep you updated when this is finished then.

P.S.: due to all this bullshit with my iMac I have an enormous delay in finishing the artwork of this years shoots. So I decided to take a break from shoots till around spring. First I wanna finish all the pictures which are waiting for artwork, then I will continue
